Ben provides clients with cybersecurity and privacy innovation and strategic advisory services. He works with cybersecurity technology builders, buyers and investors to improve the efficiency of the innovation ecosystem.
Ben has spent over 10 years helping organizations leverage cyber-risk management as a driver of efficiency, compliance and innovation. He is a trusted information security and privacy advisor to business and government executives, technologists and legal professionals. He has held leadership positions in government and the private sector.
Ben was previously a manager in Deloitte & Touche LLP's Cyber Risk Services practice, where he led crosscutting teams driving complex cybersecurity transformations for federal agencies and regulated entities. He was responsible for information security and privacy program assessment, development and management; creating strategy and governance to address emerging cybersecurity challenges and disruptors; and integrating cyber-risk solutions across large enterprise environments.
Ben was also a cyber-oversight and privacy lawyer in the federal government. He served as Assistant Counsel to the Inspector General at the U.S. Department of Education, where he facilitated information technology audits and cyber-crime investigations, and managed complex information management, sharing and data analytics initiatives. In addition, he developed and coordinated government-wide cybersecurity and privacy oversight policy for the Council of the Inspectors General for Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) Information Technology Committee.
